Tuesday News
First, a programming reminder: there is no new episode this week! Project Runway returns on Thursday, March 4. Now onto the news:
Tim Gunn spoke at Georgia State University yesterday and gave up some juicy dish in an interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He's done defending Season 6, thinks now that the plan is to stay in New York for future seasons and that Bravo "meddled" excessively with who got eliminated in Season 5.
Here's the view from the seats of Tim's talk from someone who had her question answered.

Reactions To Episode 6
Were you as exasperated as Nina or amused like Michael Kors? Maybe both at the same time! Post your reactions to Episode 6 here.
Episode 6 Party!
Hi kids! Even though all of you should really be in bed right now, we're going to let you stay up late to watch a very special episode of Project Runway this evening. We've even employed several leggy models to look after you. Won't this be fun?!?
Welcome all to the BPR romper room where tonight we are going to party like 6 year olds. (Yes, we realize that is what the scene is usually like anyways...) It's nothing but Shirley Temples and fruit punch getting poured at the bar this week. So come on in, get your sugar rush on prepare to squeal. It's party time!

On a beautiful but freezing day in the heart of midtown Manhattan, Malan Breton showcased his Fall 2010 collection. The audience was filled with celebrity guests including Alex McCord from “The Real Housewives of New York City”, Ronnie Kroell from “Make Me a Supermodel”, Mark Indelicato from “Ugly Betty”, singers Sacha Boutros and Constantine Maroulis, and several Project Runway alumni. This show by far was Malan’s most over-the-top production to date.

Project Runway Fantasy Game Update from Mark Y - Week 5
Tots on the Runway!
Tonight should be a real hoot. Last week Tim called Episode 5 the biggest challenge in PR history awarding a shot of Heidi in the winning designer's look on the cover of Marie Claire ( SJP in S4 was the biggest challenge, if y'ask me.) This week appears to be the smallest challenge with pint-sized divas strutting and vamping in front of the judges.
So who to pick for a stylish Fantasy Team? Seth Aaron is a dad and should be able communicate with kids. Anthony has a great big smile so I think he'll be able to charm them into even their least favorite color. Pictures indicate that Emilio and Jesse grew up with siblings. And Mila was pretty in pink as little girl and seemed to love parties and puppies so she should know what little girls like.
I think I'm sticking with my team from last week. Amy looks kinda' dour but I don't trust preview editing. So that's that for me - Anthony, Amy and Mila, in alphabetical order.
So does anyone have any untold gossip from Fashion Week that we haven't heard yet? And, I'd like to add that the PR_Superfans team has more than 100 members. If our team had a uniform, which PR designer would you choose to design it?
See you all in the BPR Party Room tonight.
Tonight On BPR
How cute is that? She's lost in the land of giants!
In case you hadn't noticed, it's a kid-themed challenge tonight on Project Runway in Episode 6 "A Little Bit of Fashion". Team BPR has recovered from their brief jaunt into the Big Apple last week and is ready for action. Here's the plan for tonight:
- Tbone will be back in blogcast booth with suzq for live play by play coverage of Episode 6. If you find yourself without Lifetime or are on the west coast and can't wait to find out the results, this is your ticket! Pre-game starts at 9:30 p.m. with live coverage at 10:00 p.m. ET.
- The BPR playpen, er, party room opens at 9:30 p.m.Come watch slightly normal adults act like little kids while they watch Project Runway together.
- After the show, stop by our reactions thread to whine, cry and have any sort of fit you like about tonight's episode. We won't even give you a time out!
Just another Thursday at the BPR Day Care Center. See you tonight!

Leanne Marshall - Fall 2010
Leanne Marshall's Fall 2010 Collection was inspired by topography - yes, maps! The influence is evident here:
...and in many of the other looks from the collection. The talented season five winner presented a full range of garments including coats, skirts, jackets, cocktail dresses, and gowns.
Leanne admits working until the last minute and without sleep for 48 hours! She had help from fellow Project Runway alums, Maya Luz and Suede.
Our "Man on the scene," Mark Y, sat with Wesley Nault and Jennifer Diederich. He reports that Korto Momolu, Jay McCarroll, Ben Chmura and Jonathan Peters were in attendance. Season five model Karalyn West was also in the show. Mark describes the collection as glamorous and still "very Leanne." She has a distinctive look that is always fresh and original.

WesFeld 2010
BPR Field Reporter Jessica Switaj attended Wesley Nault and Daniel Feld's show on Wednesday and sends us this report - thanks Jes!
On Wednesday evening, February 10th, I attended the GenArt New Garde fashion show, held at Drive-in Studios in Manhattan. As you probably already know, Wesley Nault and Daniel Feld were the stars of the evening, having recently won the GenArt competition sponsored by Plastics Make It Possible.
They used their $10,000 prize money to create an amazing collection inspired by past and present sea life, including coral, barnacles, trilobite fossils and conch shells. The inspiration was clearly present in each gorgeous, painstakingly constructed piece. I was able to stop by the WesFeld studio a few days before the show, so I can attest to the nearly countless hours that were taken to make these designs phenomenal.

Irina Shabayeva - Fall 2010
BPR Field Reporter Mark Y attended Irina's Show on Saturday night and sent us this report. Thank you Mark!
Irina's flight theme was evident in the use of feathers and wing motifs. The venue was very nice, with a white runway, drapes and chairs. There were striking Irina tote bags on each chair. Eighty-four seats and as many and more stood behind on both sides.
Many staffers in black, all teched up, and an obvious, but not in your face, presence of the Tupperware sponsorship which I think is very smart. Several people were obviously bussed from the tents because they were carrying the DHL vinyl bag many of which disappeared into Irina's chic black and white tote. I got a look inside the bag - all the items were in a Tupperware storage bin, another smart touch, a cookie, which my neighbor shared with me and make up mostly.
Waiters passed wine and special cocktails, pink and yellow. The music came on around 7:00 and amped up the excitement.
The collection reminded me throughout of Irina's Aspen Challenge look. Remember? The hooded knit vest? Variations on that. More glamour and less edge than her Bryant Park finale.
Several fantasy looks at the end in black, white, black and white and of course the feather dress which Kaelyn wore as the final look. Kalyn told me from her perch that it was quite comfortable.
It was quite a spectacular show and I was thrilled to be there.
Mark

Amanda's Take - Season 7 - Episode 4
I'm in New York and today (February 11th) is the first official day of the LAST fashion week in Bryant Park! Next season will be in the beautiful Lincoln Center and will be a fun, new experience. I've already booked a few shows and I'll keep you posted as things are confirmed!
Tomorrow morning (Friday) I will be walking the runway in Bryant Park for my 5th Project Runway Finale! I think the only person who can beat that is Heidi. ;)
I have been running into a few PR models from this season as well as other seasons! I have to say, the girls I've met from this season are all really sweet!
This week's challenge was to create a red dress for a fashion week gala event, for the Cambell's Soup AdDress your heart program! I love when PR partners with something really inspiring and beneficial!
...and I LOVE a red dress. Yes, even being a redhead, I still love to wear red. :)
These women are so inspiring, it was incredible to see them telling their stories to the designers. I actually really like it when the designers have to design for women that aren't the typical model size, because most people aren't!!
I never like to critique women who appear on Project Runway who are not professional models, because they do not do this for a living. I was just looking for the ladies to have fun and they did!
I love how Amy's model, Kasey, was so supportive of her win, even though she didn't walk for her this week. SO sweet. I want to work out with that trainer!!
Alexis doesn't come across as anything other than a sweet model who is a little outspoken - and prodded by producers. I think she meant well and is trying to have fun with the show. We shall see, but I still think she is a good model!
Looking forward to the show tonight!
xoxo Amanda

What Happened To Maya?
That is the big question everyone is asking coming out of the tent at Bryant Park. After last night's elimination of Anna, there were still 11 designers left in the competition. We fully expected to see 11 collections today but Heidi said right at the beginning of the show there would be 10 shown. We initially passed it off as simply a misstatement on Heidi's part but in the end there were only 10 collections that walked!
Inexplicably missing was Maya Luz. She was in the crowd to watch the finale but did not show a collection. What happened? Her work has been among the strongest of any of the designers up to this point and many of us would not have been surprised to see her as a finalist. What could have transpired on the show that would have left her out? Your guess is as good as ours.
