Weekend News from Tim Gunn, Mondo Guerra, Christian Siriano and Gretchen Jones
Don't miss Mondo's reaction to the finale here:
Tim Gunn will be at the King of Prussia Mall in Philadelphia today at 2:00. Click here for details.
Click here for an interview with Gretchen Jones from Zap2it.
A highlight: What do you think of Nina saying in a previous interview that you could be as successful post-"Runway" as previous winner Christian Siriano?
Jones: I think that's an extreme compliment and true to how I'd feel about myself. I think you have to have tenacity to really compete in the fashion industry. Fashion in general is a competitive world and I believe that I have not only the potential to create seasons' worth of clothes with an interest, but I also think that they're clothes that women really want to wear. My goal is to dress women and make them feel beautiful. I think this is just that beginning of that being able to happen and it's just a matter of finding the resources in order to do that.

BPR Field Report from "Audi Presents Fashion Houston 2010"
Three Project Runway Champions showed collections in Houston last week and BPR's Houston-based field reporter, John Chakalis sends us this fabulous report. Thank you John!
Hey BPR,
Houston...we have a Fashion Week!
I have to admit I was cautiously optimistic about a Houston Fashion Week, but after seeing the line-up of designers - Christian Siriano, Chloe Dao, Irina Shabayeva - I was sold!
Christian kicked off the week along with Cesar Galindo, a Houston native who will be a contestant on season two of "The Fashion Show". Chloe and Irina showed on Wednesday night alongside seasoned designer Mark Bouwer. I was surprised to see Kayln Hemphill (winner of "Models of the Runway") walking in all of the shows throughout the week. She's a Houston native as well and she's certainly made us proud!

The week garnered tons of press, especially with the help of George Bush Sr. and Barbara Bush who showed up on Tuesday night to cheer on granddaughter Lauren Bush as she premiered her own collection!
Chloe closed the week with a private viewing of her collection at Lot 8. I got the chance to chat with her about the inspiration behind the collection (birds) and the technical aspects of some of the dresses. She was a fabulous host as always!
I can't wait for Houston Fashion Week 2011...maybe we'll be seeing collections from one of our remaining seasons 8 designers in the Lone Star State!

Christian Siriano O-Cel-O "Clean With Style" Sweepstakes Winners!

Ever wonder who wins these contests? Fans like you and I!
The lucky winner, Diane, brought along her 13-year-old daughter, Emma to attend Christian Siriano’s spring 2011 runway show and got to meet Christian backstage before the show to receive a sneak peek at the fashions that inspired Christian’s O-Cel-O sponge designs.

BPR at MBFW - Christian Siriano
Although there are plenty of celebrities at Christian Siriano's show, for me it is more fun to see Christian's family and other season four designers and models.
Christian's sister Shannon, whom we first met in line waiting to enter the tents for the season four finale is always in the front row wearing one of Christian's designs.

Season Four designer Victorya Hong is always there to support Christian as well.
You'll recognize season four model Lea Rannells modeling for Christian in the photo above and we also spoke with Jackie Miranne. (Who could even forget her modeling the "Ice Princess" design for Elisa Jimenez?)

The super-talented Brad Walsh not only composed the music for Christian's show, but he designed the jewelry as well.
Click here for more photos of Christian's collection.
Team BPR is thrilled to be invited to this show each season. Thank you Christian!

Christian Siriano at Lincoln Center
Christian Siriano, the talented and charming winner of Project Runway Season 4, showed a 40 piece Spring 2011 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on September 9, 2010. The collection featured colorful prints, most of them designed by Siriano himself, white sportswear and two show-stopping frothy gowns met with enthusiasm by the crowd. The music was composed by Christian's partner, Brad Walsh, who also designed the jewelry worn during the show. The shoes were towering with drool-worthy heel detail. Christian.
