Tuesday News
Renee K noted that Nick Verreos was seated several rows in front of her at the World Skating Championships in Los Angeles on Saturday. She sends this report:
During the resurfacing of the ice, I saw him stand up and turn my way. I pointed at him and crooked my finger signaling him to come up to my row. (Picture of him walking in the aisle). Surprisingly, he did. What a delight!!! I can only add to the others who have posted about meeting him to say that he couldn't have been nicer. He looked fabulous.
Thrilled, I introduced myself, told him how much I enjoyed his work and also told him I had been looking for him the entire time to which he replied, "You know I love figure skating, especially the outfits." I said he should have been there all week as there had been some doozies. Anyway, he agreed to having a picture taken with me.
Of all the wonderful things I experienced during the event, I have to admit, this one was my personal highlight.

Project Runway Canada Season One designers, Evan Biddell, Carlie Wong and Lucian Matis were among the designers showing at LG Fashion Week.
Here is Johanne's report from the front row of the PRC finale show:
I sat front row for the collections by the three top finalists at Project Runway Canada’s LG Fashion Week finale. The show started with an introduction by PRC host Iman who was wearing a fitted emerald-green knee-length dress with silver platform heels. She asked the audience to help maintain the excitement of the TV show by not disclosing any information about the designers who were there.
That said, there were six designers who went on stage and introduced themselves and described their collection but only three collections were shown, without the designer coming out after his/her work to salute the crowd. As a fan and a viewer of Project Runway Canada, it wasn’t hard for me to tell whose work was on the runway.
It was a great show by all three designers- not at all what I expected to see and from up close in the front row, even I could tell that there were some garment construction issues. Some seams were crooked or awkward-looking, sequins weren’t well finished at the zipper of a dress, shapes were a little odd. All in all, the most fun all season of PRC and I can’t wait to share more with you about the three designers I met backstage and my interview with one of them yesterday. We’ll have to wait until the final airing of the show to get into more details!

BPR at Diana Eng's Launch Party
BPR Correspondent Nancy T attended Diana Eng's book launch party and sent us this report. Thanks Nancy!
Diana's party was sponsored by the fabulous Fashion Indie. Her DJs were Joey Mariano and Eric Skiff. Sweet treats (including chocolate-covered Poprocks!) were provided by Danielle Bilton.
Diana Eng keeps proving that Fashion Geek is not an oxymoron. On March 19, 2009, she held a release party and fashion presentation for her new book.
Friends and press crowded the chic Pop Lounge in New York, sipping wine, eating chocolate-covered pop rocks, and listening to technopop. In the center of the room were four models wearing outfits that anyone (according to Diana!) can make using instructions from her book.

Kenley Collins Arrested
Kenley Collins has been arrested for assaulting her fiance, Zac Penley. According to TMZ, there are several charges and she spent the night in jail.
This photo is from the BPR brunch on February 20th where Kenley was proudly showing off her ring and discussing her wedding plans.
More from the New York Post:
"It was a miscommunication," Collins told The Post after getting released without bail from Brooklyn Supreme Court yesterday morning.
"Fights happen, And that's that. There is no case."
According to law enforcement sources, an enraged Collins woke Penley up just after 7 a.m. by hurling their cat in his face. Then she threw her laptop, and as he fell crawled on the floor, slammed a door on his head. She threw three apples, and doused him with water, before he was able to dial 911.
Everyone is chiming in on this one:
As always, stay tuned!

Heidi Klum on the April Cover of Ladies Home Journal
New York, NY -- Here are some excerpts from the April LHJ interview with Heidi Klum -
About her less-than-fancy upbringing: “We didn’t have the money to go to the big shops, so we had to be inventive to look trendy. It was always fun, never boring.”
Her hoarding habit: “I have every one of my airplane boarding passes. Growing up, we would never throw away anything, like a shoe box or a toilet paper roll. We would always make something out of it.” Then she whips out some leftover fabric from her purse and folds it into different shapes. “My mom would make me clothes, then a matching outfit for my Barbies, then a scrunchy for my hair.”
About Seal’s wish to be on Dancing with the Stars: “I told him, ‘But Schatzi [sweetheart], they won’t let us dance together.’”
About her second marriage to Seal in Costa Careyes, Mexico: “It’s too sad to have only one wedding day to remember for the rest of our lives. It’s a good excuse to get all of our friends together and have a party.”
How she learned about the business: She was 18 when she entered a beauty contest and beat out an estimated 30,000 other girls to win $300,000 and a three-year modeling contract. “They wanted me to sign the contract immediately,” says Klum, but her father, Gunther and his attorney purged the agreement of tangled loopholes. “That hardened me up to the business. They want to keep the buck in their own pants. And you’re the one running around, doing all the work.”
