A highlight: Klum ultimately ordered a few dresses based on Drummond's final collection. He was the first to send his garments down the New York catwalk.
Later Drummond said that he was suspicious when Tim Gunn walked up to him after the show, grabbed his hand and led him back to see Klum. She and Michael Kors gushed over his designs and Drummond said that they actually said his garments were among the best that day.
That's when she made her request for a few special orders (something her assistant says that she never does). So far, Drummond isn't absolutely sure, Klum intends to pay for the garments or be have them gifted, so stay tuned.

Fashion In Detroit: Really? Yes. Brit Moore
Thanks to Joe Faris and his team, Detroit just got the gift of quality fashion right in their own backyard, the Detroit Zoo. Detroit is not known for its style or its zoo, but already and potentially more so in the future, Fashion In Detroit will turn heads all over the country. With the likes of CNN, WWD and the NY Times lending an ear to this event, Joe Faris, might very well be on to something. Something Detroit really needs, and something it has never had, a rising fashion industry.
Project Runway season four designer, Joe Faris is leading the team of Fashion Insiders staging a new fashion event in Detroit. Betsey Johnson, Kevan Hall, Kevin Christiana, and many others will be showing on October 1st and 2nd at Fashion in Detroit.
Project Runway Season Five designer, Joe Faris and rest of the the "Fashion in Detroit" team are working hard to assure that the inaugural event is a success.
This might not be the easiest time to begin a new venture, but the team is determined. Betsey Johnson, Kevin Christiana, and Joe Faris are among the designers showing at the October 1 - 2 event.

For me, fashion began as an art form, a visceral discourse on the body, wearable, interactive, the body as a canvas.
And lately fashion has become more than an art form, it has become a cause for development, a means through which I have begun to understand my place in our modern context.
Just wanted to send you some pix of the leather shirt I made for Kid Rock. His peeps called me a few days before the concert in Detroit at Comerica Park and asked if I could put something together and when I gave it to them they told me that if he likes it he will wear it. He came out first song wearing the shirt in front of 40,000 people. Amazing!

Joe Faris spent Father's Day in Hong Kong working "feverishly" on the Spring '10 Sportswear Collection for Schott. He describes it as "complete with lots of zippers and leatha!"
He stopped in Los Angeles on the way and visited Jerell Scott. Joe believes that Jerells's latest collection is "beyond amazing." We are looking forward to seeing it.
Joe also sends us a photo of his adorable family and admits that he is more than ready for season six of Project Runway.
