Field Report From Indianapolis
Angela was so incredibly friendly and gracious, and was very accommodating in helping us promote the event with the media. She said she was having a terrific weekend, which of course meant that she was selling lots of her work! She said that she truly appreciated everyone who came out to see her, and that several people had mentioned that they attended the event just to meet her.
Selling your art from a tent in a parking lot is hard work and is a long way from the glamour of New York and a major television show, but Angela was obviously having a great time.
We want to say thanks to all the BPR fans who came to the Art Fair to meet Angela. The Broad Ripple Art Fair is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and all the money raised from tickets goes to support our programs, which include free art classes for children in inner city housing, domestic violence shelters and urban parks and mentoring programs for aspiring young artists, plus free admission to our galleries and outdoor sculpture garden year-round. The Art Fair is attended by around 26,000 and shows the work of 225 artists. It also features four stages of entertainment, a food court, and kids’ art activities.
Our website is www.indplsartcenter.org
Thanks to BPR for the chance to promote the Art Fair and the Indianapolis Art Center! We hope to let everyone know if Angela joins us again next year.
Sincerely,
Pam R
